This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to enhance your BIG Launcher experience by adding more screens and personalizing your home screen buttons. Please note that the video this guide is based on may show an older version of Android or BIG Launcher, so some visual elements might differ slightly, but the core functionality should remain similar.
Adding New Screens
To expand your BIG Launcher interface with additional screens:
- Tap the three dots next to the clock on your home screen.
- Select “Preferences” from the menu.
- Tap “Customize buttons and screens”.
- On the screens setup menu, tap “Add screen”.
Important Note: By default, BIG Launcher does not enable swipe scrolling between screens immediately. You will need to link your new screen to a button on your existing home screen. When prompted, tap “Yes” to do this automatically. This action typically replaces the last button on your home screen with a shortcut to your newly created second screen. The original apps list shortcut, which was on the last button, will be moved to the new screen.
Enabling Swipe Navigation Between Screens
If you prefer to navigate between your screens by swiping instead of using a button:
- Tap the three dots next to the clock.
- Choose “Preferences” from the menu.
- Tap “Screens’ options”.
- Enable the option “Use swipe to navigate screens”.
Tip: You can change the swipe type to “Loop” if you want to enable infinite scrolling, allowing you to swipe continuously through your screens in a cycle.
Customizing Buttons
Personalize your home screen buttons to launch specific apps, actions, or shortcuts:
- Tap the three dots next to the clock.
- Choose “Set buttons” from the menu.
- Tap the specific button you wish to change.
- Select the desired action from the options provided:
- App: Create a shortcut to launch any installed application.
- Internal Widgets: Control system functions like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth directly.
- Direct Call: Set up a button to directly call a contact. If a photo is assigned to that contact, it will be displayed on the button.
- Website Shortcut: Launch your web browser directly to a specific web address.
- Change Icon or Add Text Label: Customize the visual appearance of the button.
- External Widget: Add an active widget from other installed apps (e.g., weather, calendar).
- External Shortcut: Add app-specific shortcuts provided by other installed applications.
