How to delete call history item, SMS or contact in BIG Launcher / BIG Phone / BIG SMS

Please be aware that the screens shown in the original video tutorial may reflect an older version of Android or BIG Launcher. While the core functionality and steps remain consistent, visual elements and exact button placements might vary slightly in newer versions of the app.

Enabling Deletion Features in BIG Launcher

The ability to delete call history items, SMS messages, or contacts is intentionally disabled by default in BIG Launcher, BIG Phone, and BIG SMS. This is a safety measure to prevent accidental data loss. To enable these deletion options, you will need to go through the setup wizard.

1. From the home screen, tap the three dots next to the clock.
2. From the menu that appears, choose Preferences.
3. Tap Run setup wizard. (This is the same wizard you saw during the initial installation.)
4. Tap the button with the green checkmark three times.
5. You will then see a screen featuring a trash can icon.
6. Tap the box directly under the description text.
7. Choose Allow from the options.
8. Tap the green checkmark two more times to return to the home screen.

How to Delete Call History Items

Once deletion is enabled:

1. Go to the Phone screen.
2. Tap any of the call log contact names.
3. Select the specific entry you wish to delete.
4. Tap the Delete button.

How to Delete SMS Messages

Once deletion is enabled:

1. Go to the SMS screen.
2. Tap any of the messaging threads to open it.
3. Select the specific SMS message you want to delete.
4. Tap the Delete button.

Manually Managing Deletion Options for Contacts, Call Log, and SMS

You can also enable or disable deletion options for specific categories directly through the Preferences menu, without running the full setup wizard again.

• For Contacts:

  1. Tap the three dots next to the clock and choose Preferences.
  2. Select Contacts from the menu.
  3. On the next screen, toggle the Add contact delete option to enable or disable it.

• For Call Log Items:

  1. Tap the three dots next to the clock and choose Preferences.
  2. Select Phone from the menu.
  3. You can then set up the deletion of call log items from this screen.

• For SMS Messages:

  1. Tap the three dots next to the clock and choose Preferences.
  2. Select Messages from the menu.
  3. You can then set up the deletion of SMS messages from this screen.
