There are two ways to add a shortcut to a WhatsApp conversation to a large button in BIG Launcher.
Method 1: add the shortcut from BIG Launcher
The first method starts in BIG Launcher. On the home screen, tap the three dots next to the clock and choose “Set buttons”. The button editor for the current screen will open. Select the button you want to change and choose “External shortcut”. In the next menu, you can see shortcuts offered by the apps installed on your phone. Find and choose “WhatsApp Chat”, then select the contact you want. When you go back to the BIG Launcher home screen, the button will show the contact’s photo. When you tap the button, the conversation with this contact opens directly in WhatsApp.
If WhatsApp is not listed
On some phones, this method does not work because WhatsApp is not visible in the “External shortcut” list. In that case, use the second method.
Method 2: create the shortcut from WhatsApp
From the BIG Launcher home screen, open the Apps list and start WhatsApp. In WhatsApp, create a new conversation, or open an existing conversation with the contact you want. Tap the three dots in the upper right corner, choose “More”, and then choose “Add shortcut”. A BIG Launcher screen selection will appear. Choose the screen where you want to add the shortcut, for example the Home screen. Then choose “Set buttons”.
Choose the BIG Launcher button
The BIG Launcher button editor will open. Select the button where you want to place the WhatsApp conversation shortcut. In the next menu, choose “External shortcut” again and scroll to the bottom of the list. A new pinned shortcut for the selected WhatsApp conversation should be available there. Select it, go back to the BIG Launcher home screen, and the new shortcut will be active on the chosen button.
